The 2007-08 season was Fulham Football Club's 7th consecutive season in the Barclays Premier League. Manager Lawrie Sanchez was in charge for the first few months of the season (after taking charge at the end of the last campaign) but left the club by mutual consent in December 2007, after a string of poor results (gaining only two wins all season),had sent Fulham sliding towards the relegation zone. He was replaced by ex-Finland coach Roy Hodgson, who had previously been in charge of fellow Premier League side Blackburn Rovers, as well as having managed around Europe. Fulham managed to save themselves from relegation to the Football League Championship 1-0 away win against Portsmouth at Fratton Park, their third straight away victory, despite wins for their relegation rivals Reading and Birmingham City, staying up on goal difference.
